Mission
Our goal is to provide our customers with quality solutions and world-class
service for their R&D and engineering programs.
Company History
Optics for Hire was founded in 2002 to market the optics
consulting services of a team of Ukrainian engineers with over
20 years of collaborative experience in designing opto mechanical
systems for a wide variety of applications including optical
media,
bio-medical devices, illumination and imaging systems, and
metrology tools. In 2006 the company added an engineering
consulting office in Minsk, Belarus.
Working with Optics for Hire allows firms to leverage their own
expertise and enhance their productivity at a compelling
price.
We are customer focused and aim to deliver precisely what
you need and to give clients maximum project control. Our customers
have come to consider Optics for Hire as a resource which enhances
their own capabilities with a significantly lower cost than doing
the job internally. We are incorporated in the United States and
are rigorous in our protection of our client's intellectual property.
The Ukraine R&D team is comprised
of 18 physicists, optics PhD's, mechanical engineers, electrical
engineers, software engineers and CAD designers. They have worked
together on optics technologies of nearly every type and
application including several generations of optical disc drives
including CD, CD-R and fluorescence based media.
US based project management is provided by
talented engineers like Vladimir Schwartz who hold 11 patents, has
worked in semiconductor and optical disc equipment industry and
held engineering and technology management positions at a variety
of well respect firms. Mr. Schwartz is well versed in
optical technologies and acts as program manager and customer
contact.
Company founder John Ellis previously served as VP of Marketing
for the former NASDAQ listed data storage firm Constellation 3D.
Prior to that Mr. Ellis held sales and marketing positions with
optical disc capital equipment supplier Reflekt Technology and
software concerns Viatech Inc. and Ligature Ltd. Mr. Ellis also
previously worked for former US Senators Paul Tsongas and Warren
Rudman.
